How to use your student planner to organize your academic life

Make that deadline!

Papers cannot be written well the day before the deadline – that is, for most people that will result in a paper that gets at least one grade point lower grade than if they'd started well ahead of time. In college your teachers will not remind you of your homework every time you see them – and you also see them less often than in school. Still, those papers and tests do have to be done – and you want to do them well to get ahead.

This is why getting organized is so important. And it can't hurt that being organized will help you later in life as well.

As anyone will tell you: to get organized you need a planner. In fact, you need a GOOD planner and you need to use it too, of course.

Customized calendar with baby pictures

This Baby Calendar Kit can be used to create your custom calendar starting at any month in the year. If you select the undated version you can use this calendar year after year if you combine that with the laminated pages which are erasable if you use the pen that’s included. An undated calendar can double as a birthday calendar because when you order you can add your own custom dates.

Harry Potter Calendars and Planners

Planners, Date Books, Calendars and Agenda Books with Harry Potter
In 2009 the 6th Harry Potter movie came out, so it makes sense that the 2010 Harry Potter calendars are all devoted to 'Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince'.

"Harry Potter" is a series of seven fantasy novels written by British author J. K. Rowling. With Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, his friends from the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry Harry fights evil incarnate: Lord Voldemort. For some reason (the reason does become clear in the series) Lord Voldemort has decided that the baby Harry Potter is the most dangerous threat to his rule of the wizarding world.

Advent Calendars 2009

We had an advent calendar for a few years when I was small. It had a strange magic, though as one got older they did become boring.

These days advent calendars come not just with pictures behind doors, but with stickers for each day counting up till Christmas - and even with toys: playmobil or lego for instance.

An Advent calendar is a special calendar which is used to count or celebrate the days of Advent in anticipation of Christmas. Some calendars are strictly religious, whereas others are secular in content.

Today, most advent calendars are made for children. Many take the form of a large rectangular card with many "windows", one of which is opened every day during Advent. In less elaborate calendars, each window opens to reveal an image, a poem, or part of a story such as the Nativity story itself. More elaborate Advent calendars have a small gift concealed in each window, such as a toy or a chocolate item.

Witches, Wicca and Pagan calendars, date books, day planners and agenda books

Paganism, wicca and witches calendar books

I've selected some unique calendars for everyday use. Some are great mainly to make a note about your plans. Others have information about the Wiccan moon cycle, spells and legends. Learn about the God, the Goddess - and admire the beautiful artwork.

Thich Nhat Hanh Calendars and planners

Peace activist and teacher of mindfulness

Known in recent years as a teacher of Zen Buddhist meditation and mindfulness, Thich Nhat Hanh entered public consciousness as a peace activist. During the Vietnam War he was active in relief efforts by rebuilding schools and other grassroots efforts. Traveling to the US to study at Princeton and convince Martin Luther King to denounce the Vietnam war, he was asked within a few years to lecture at Cornell and Columbia.

His international efforts towards peace have made him an exile from his own country. In between travels he resides in the South of France, in Plum Village, the Dordogne where he has set up a retreat center. His books sell world wide and his speaking engagements are usually sold out well in advance.

His writings can be divided into two: there are popular Buddhism books which mainly talk about mindfulness and right living, but in his other books he goes into Theravada and Mahayana Buddhist teachings quite deeply. Thich Nhat Hanh is a major influence on Buddhism in the West.
