I love nature photography, but art based on nature is equally enchanting. I do think that's a good word for this lens, because many of the calendars on here turn nature into something romantic, not quite of this world. Colors turn pastel because of the use of watercolors and the bright colors of nature become almost luminous in the hands of these artists.

A biology teacher of mine said once that the only reason we don't think ducks are pretty is because we see them too often. Some of the artists who made these calendars clearly agree. You'll find common birds portrayed as well as rare ones.
